Thank you for completing Chasity’s evaluation. We received confirmation from the school board today that the evaluation was received and she is current. She is still finishing up some of her tests. Should that work be included in next year’s portfolio or added to this year’s portfolio? Thank you for being an encourager for homeschooling families and the help you’ve given these two grandparents.

Well, your passion for education is evident, as well as that of your wife, and your entire family – as we see on your videos. I think it is hard for new homeschoolers, initially, to have faith in the process, because we are so used to being told what to do, and asking for permission from the government, or an outside authority, in order to determine “progress.” Law and order, is indeed important, as you wrote, and to build on that, it is really great when people, with such distinguished background in education, like you and your wife, are there to bridge the gap between what is, and always has been, the accepted notion of schooling, and the possibilities of what education might be truly be, with family vision realized along with community standards.
The community is blessed to have teachers like you and your wife, who can articulate our concerns so clearly, and address the myriad issues that arise in the interpretation of the homeschooling statutes, which can be a bit confusing on the best of days, and as you know, I am an attorney. You have obviously done your homework! 🙂 You provided us with so much more than educational service – you provided us a sense of friendship, warmth, and welcome. Your travels, here and abroad, seems to give you, and your wife, a unique perspective by which to inspire others. We hope that you will let us return the favor and call on us anytime an issue might arise where we might assist you in your support of the homeschooling community. Thank you very much for your prompt response! This is actually the fifth time we do our homeschool evaluation with you. I was so happy with the results each time that we keep coming back to you!
I will send you an email with pdf files of their work this week….In regards to the video you and your wife made, I so wish I had seen it 7 years ago when we first started homeschooling! It’s very clear and to the point; I would definitely recommend it to people who ask me how to get started along the way.

I am a home schooling parent since 1999 (SHE'S ARRIVED!) and a FL Certified Teacher since 1996. I am also a Standardized Test Administrator and Educational Advisor.
